Burning passion 'sets barn ablaze'
Fire fighters dampen down the barn at Red Gables Farm
A naked couple were seen running from the barn
A couple have been arrested after a hay barn was set alight during a romantic encounter.

It is thought they knocked over a candle during a passionate embrace.

A fire fighter said the couple were seen running naked from the blaze at 0150 BST on Monday.

Leicestershire police said on Tuesday that a man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of arson.

Barn destroyed

A spokeswoman said: "They have been bailed pending further inquiries."

Fire crews attended Red Gables Farm, Appleby Magna, Leicestershire, but were unable to save the barn, which was destroyed along with its contents.

Two people are understood to have been arrested while running naked down the road from the fire.

Firefighters damping down at the scene on Tuesday said no clothing or other incriminating evidence was found.

Farmer David Collington said: "I've heard the same talk of a couple making love in my barn, but I don't know any more than that."
