Grandparent carers 'risk financial hardship'

Research by the charity Grandparents Plus, and the Equality and Human Rights Commission, suggests that grandparents in low-income families are under increasing pressure to give up work and help with childcare.

Chief executive of Grandparents Plus, Sam Smethers, says those who give up work face financial hardship in the long term, and their contribution should be recognised financially.
