The 'most improved' secondary schools in England 2009

This page shows the 105 secondary schools in England that have had the biggest sustained improvement in their results over the previous four years.

The figures show the proportion of students getting at least five good GCSEs or equivalent qualifications each year, including English and maths GCSEs, and in the final column the overall increase.

The list was compiled by the Department for Children, Schools and Families.

The key to inclusion in the table is consistency - a school's results have to have improved each year. Other schools might have had a bigger rise across the four years, but with a dip along the way.
