CBI calls for students to pay more

A report by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has suggested that extra money needed to fund universities should come from an increase in student loans costs and tuition fees.

The CBI director general, Richard Lambert has told the BBC he believes that a slash in funding will have to be made in the student support system, to prevent further cuts in teaching and research.
