Thousands phone UCAS centre

The A-level results have been released for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, triggering a scramble for university places, as a shortage of places available through the clearing system means many students will miss out.

Kate Burton, the Customer Service Manager at UCAS advises students not to panic, saying ''there is something out there for everybody''.

Claire Marshall reports from the UCAS call centre in Cheltenham.
