Parent in court over school place

A mother is due to appear in court accused of lying about her address to gain a place for her son at a popular school.

Mrinal Patel, from London, is thought to be the first parent to be prosecuted in this way under the Fraud Act.

Mrs Patel says she made the application in good faith and denies fraud.

James Westhead reports.
