Tables showing the results achieved by primary schools in England in the 2008 national curriculum tests are due to be published at 0930GMT on Wednesday 1 April.
The results, for maintained primary schools, are published by the Department for Children, Schools and Families. They have been considerably delayed - they were due last December - by the problems which plagued the administration of the tests last year.
The data include "contextual value added" (CVA) scores - produced by the department to show how much a school has improved its pupils' achievements.
The BBC News website proposes to rank institutions within each local authority area in two ways:
- on the aggregate score out of 300 of pupils attaining the Level 4 threshold in the tests in English, maths and science
- on the Key Stage 1 to 2 CVA score
Additional tables will show the institutions with the best and worst attainment nationally.
