Traffic-calming scheme to start
Work is due to begin on a traffic calming scheme on the Isle of Man.

Speed bumps are to be installed on Bridge Road, Ballasalla, and the road narrowed to encourage drivers to reduce their speed.

The work will be carried out between the mini roundabout at the Olde Bakery and Rushen Abbey Bridge.

It is due to start on 5 February and should be completed by the beginning of April, the government's Department of Transport said.

Red-coloured surface treatment will be applied across the road at the bus stop to highlight a safe crossing place for pedestrians, and parking bays will be marked.
