Students rate university courses
The table below shows institutions in the official National Student Survey listed in alphabetical order.

The satisfaction ratings are on a scale of 1 to 5, from "definitely disagree" to "definitely agree" with statements in 21 questions grouped under six categories, with a final overall satisfaction rating.

KEY TO COLUMNS

T = teaching
A = assessment and feedback
S = academic support
M = organisation and management
R = learning resources
P = personal development
O = overall

We left out the words "University of ..." to make the alphabetical list easier to use. So, for example, "Nottingham" means the University of Nottingham.

Notes:

We have omitted smaller specialist institutions which offer only three or fewer subjects, such as music, drama or agricultural colleges.

Others did not have a high enough response rate overall to satisfy the statisticians, who set 50% participation and a minimum of 30 students as the thresholds. Some only just missed out, such as Southampton Institute on 48.5%.

In three, students' unions urged people not to take part and the response rate was well below 30%: Warwick, Oxford and Cambridge.
