Ed Balls vindicated by Baby Peter High Court ruling

The High Court has ruled that the former head of children's services at Haringey Council was lawfully sacked following the death of Baby Peter.

Sharon Shoesmith had claimed she was made a political scapegoat, because the Children's Secretary, Ed Balls, intervened to call for her to leave.

Mr Balls said he felt vindicated by the High Court result.

He told the BBC: "I would make the same decision again".
