Chaos at Ferry terminal as thousands return home

Weary foot-passengers returning to Britain last night have complained about missing their last train home after immigration authorities at Portsmouth ferry terminal insisted on checking their passports.

Mark Leslie, an architect, was among the passengers who had to make alternative travel arrangements after his flight was cancelled due to the cloud of volcanic ash in the atmosphere.

He filmed what happened on his video camera and spoke about his experiences to BBC News.
