City of Westminster Magistrates Court has cleared a police officer of assaulting a woman at the G20 protests in London last year.
Met Police Sgt Delroy Smellie struck Nicola Fisher, 36, of Brighton, but argued in court that he had been entitled to use reasonable force to protect himself and his fellow officers because he feared the objects in her hands were weapons.
This amateur footage, which was played in court, shows the incident and the moments leading-up to it on 2 April.
