Calls to raise crime age rejected

The new Children's Commissioner for England, Maggie Atkinson, has said the age of criminal responsibility should be raised from ten to twelve.

Dr Atkinson said the killers of James Bulger, who were ten, should not have been prosecuted in an adult court.

The Ministry of Justice has rejected the call.
