Pope Benedict criticises UK equality legislation

Pope Benedict has criticised the Equality Bill, currently going through Parliament, claiming it 'violates the natural law'.

Church leaders are said to be worried that the bill might expose them to legal challenges if they refuse to employ openly gay people or transsexuals.

The Pope has confirmed that he will visit Britain later this year - the first papal visit to the UK since John Paul II's in 1982.

Ben Ando reports.
