Charlie Simpson raises thousands in bike ride for Haiti

The seven-year-old boy who decided to do a sponsored cycle ride to raise money for the survivors of the Haiti earthquake has raised more than £70,000. His original target was just £500.

Charlie Simpson, his father and a friend cycled around his local park several times to make the five-mile target.

In a quick chat at the 1.5 mile mark, he said he was finding it "quite tiring".
