Bargain hunting shoppers hit boxing day sales

Stores across the UK have opened their doors for what is expected to be one of the busiest shopping days of the year, as Boxing Day falls on a Saturday for the first time in 11 years.

Retailers are hoping that Saturday's trading will rival the pre-Christmas sales.
