Children 'rushed' into growing up, says Archbishop

Children are being forced to grow up too fast in modern society, the Archbishop of Canterbury has said in his Christmas Day sermon.

Children need "nourishment and stability", Rowan Williams stressed in his Canterbury Cathedral sermon.

Dr Williams added that driving children to independence can lead to "misery and exploitation".
