'We have failed people,' says Cardinal

The Catholic Primate of Ireland has said he would support calls for a Northern Ireland inquiry into clerical sex abuse.

Cardinal Sean Brady is to go to the Vatican to meet the Pope next week to discuss the Murphy Report into abuse in the Dublin archdiocese.

Speaking to Irish state TV, he acknowledged the church ''had failed people''.
