A yachtsman who was among the five British sailors held by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard for a week has spoken of his joy at their release.

In his first interview since being freed, sailor David Bloomer said the men knew where they were, but did not realise they should not have been there.

He said the Iranians "did their best to make us comfortable" but after they had been asked to come ashore, the men knew they "were going to be there for a while".
