Merlin helicopters arrive in Afghanistan

The first of the Merlin helicopters which will reinforce the British mission in Afghanistan has arrived in Helmand Province. The fleet has undergone a £42m upgrade programme.

The government had faced criticism about the level of helicopter cover for British troops there.
