Father drops right-to-life case

A father who had been fighting to stop a hospital withdrawing life support for his severely disabled 13-month-old boy has ended his bid.

The child, known as Baby RB for legal reasons, was born with a rare genetic muscle condition that makes independent breathing impossible.

The father changed his mind after hearing medical evidence which suggested it would be in the best interests of the child for medical support to be withdrawn.

Sophie Hutchinson reports.
