Cohabitee rights plan criticised

Couples who live together often assume that their partner will automatically inherit their money after they die - even if they haven't left a will.

But that is not the case and now plans by the Law Commission for England and Wales, to give them better rights, have come under criticism.

Some lawyers say people who are not married may not have the same commitment to each other as those who are.
