Increase in use of illegal tyres

Motorists are neglecting the safety of their cars, and particularly their tyres during the recession, according to the AA.

The motoring organisation says dangerously worn tyres are becoming more common and were to blame for 34 deaths and 900 injuries on Britain's roads last year.
