Vanessa George is questioned by police. This report contains material which viewers may find disturbing

Detectives interviewed Vanessa George four times in the two days after her arrest on 9 June, on suspicion of sexually abusing children in her care.

She admitted taking "disgusting" photographs of youngsters to win the attention of Colin Blanchard, who she had befriended through Facebook.

But she refused to say which of the children from the Plymouth nursery where she worked were her victims.

Here are extracts from the transcripts of those interviews obtained by the BBC's Inside Out South West programme:

On her guilt:

Questioning officer: "I can see you're upset."

Vanessa George: "I'm fuming with myself really. I am. Because it's the epitome, isn't it? It's, like, absolutely disgusting."

On messages to Blanchard:

George was questioned about her relationship with Blanchard.

VG: "I said to him, like, 'I work in a nursery' and things like that - and it was just 'take some pictures' or something like that.

"And I've gone 'yeah, alright then'. And I said 'well, what would you do for me if I done that for you?' - like joking.

"And I said: 'You'd have to put a ring on my finger to make me do things like that.' And it was like 'mmmmm'. You know."

On how she viewed her actions:

VG: "I knew it was wrong when I was doing it."

Officer: "What's wrong about it?"

VG: "Well, it's vile."

On the extent of her crimes:

Officer: "So how many pictures do you think you've taken?"

VG: "Most probably lots."

Officer: "How many is 'lots'?"

VG: "I wouldn't honestly say but it was..."

Officer: "A hundred? 200?"

VG: "I don't know... It wasn't 200."

On who was affected:

Officer: "Are there any children you haven't taken a picture of?"

VG: "There's a few of them, yeah. I just do... I just used to take... Not all of them, no."

Officer: "Not all of them?"

VG: "No."

On her victims:

Officer: "Help the families who are out there now. Stressed, worried, concerned for their children..."

(Silence)

Officer: "Please help us and tell us who you took pictures of."

(Silence)

Officer: "Vanessa, please. For them."

(Silence)

Officer: "As a mother you'd want to know. Don't you care?"

VG: "No comment."

Officer: "You clearly don't. I can't believe you can sit there and not care."
