A World War II bomb has been exploded by a team of Royal Navy divers off the southwest coast.

It had been found lying in about 21 metres of sea water, a mile off Swanage in Dorset.

The bomb, a German ground mine containing 300kg of explosive, created a plume of water 150-200 feet (33-50m)high.
