The mothers of seven soldiers killed in Afghanistan in July and repatriated at the same time say not enough is being done to help close relatives who are not "next of kin".

They have set up the charity Afghan Heroes to provide support for parents and siblings who are not given the same immediate MoD aftercare as wives.

The number of UK troops killed on operations in Afghanistan since 2001 now stands at 214.
