Fifty-one people died on board the Marchioness riverboat on 20 August 1989 when it was rammed by a huge dredger, the Bowbelle, on the River Thames.

The victims were among 132 passengers who had been celebrating a birthday party on the pleasure cruiser.

In the hours following the disaster, survivors and eye-witnesses spoke to the BBC.
