Shots have been fired near a busy railway station in central London.
Police from a specialist unit were called to The Cut, a busy bar and restaurant area near Waterloo station.
A police spokesman said a man on a cycle at Coin Street was asked to stop, but as he was approached, he ran off.
As two officers gave chase they were fired upon, and the man fled from the scene. Both suffered injuries.
