General thwarted by mobile phone


The former head of the British army, General Sir Mike Jackson, should be used to dealing with difficult situations.

But his mobile phone got the better of him when he appeared on Sunday AM to discuss the role of British troops in Afghanistan with presenter Stephanie Flanders.

Fed up with fiddling with the buttons in an attempt to silence it for the second time, he instead opted to throw it across the studio.
