A BBC Radio 5 live investigation has found that police forces in the UK have paid more than £6m in the past year to people who have information on criminal activity.

Individual police forces are refusing to go into any specific detail of how the money was spent, but say it is vital in tackling a whole range of criminal activity.

This man says he has been approached twice by police who want him to give them information on a big cocaine gang. He told us what they are offering him.
