UK 'most watched nation' by CCTV

Despite the revelation that there are almost one million fewer CCTV cameras in the UK than previously thought, Britain still appears to have more of them trained on its population than other countries.

It follows a claim made by Detective Chief Inspector Mick Neville of the Met police's CCTV unit that most forces do not have systems to use CCTV images effectively to catch criminals.
