Real IRA blamed for Belfast violence

Sinn Fein MLA Gerry Kelly has said the real IRA was behind trouble in north Belfast in which at least two police officers were injured.

He said the dissidents brought in trouble makers from other areas who were determined to plunge the community back into sectarian strife.

Water canon was fired at youths who hurled petrol bombs and stones.
