Brown: Afghan battle key to UK safety

Giving up the battle against the Taliban in Afghanistan would leave the UK "less safe as a country", the prime minister has said.

In an interview with the British Forces Broadcasting Service, Gordon Brown said that there was a "chain of terror" linking Afghanistan and Pakistan "to the streets of Britain".
