Man jailed for killing ex-girlfriend

A semi-professional footballer has been jailed for life for killing his ex-girlfriend seven years after he was cleared of the crime.

Mario Celaire was prosecuted over the death of Cassandra McDermott for a second time after a reform of the double jeopardy laws in 2003.
