Cost of Royal Family rises £1.5m

The Royal Family cost the British taxpayer £41.5m in the last financial year, the equivalent of 69p per person.

The cost of running the monarchy rose £1.5m compared to the previous year - but the Queen still had to dip into a reserve fund to boost the civil list.
