Call for better deal for carers

Leading charities including Mencap and the Alzheimer's Society, are calling for a better deal for Britain's unpaid carers.

An estimated six million carers look after family members or friends at home and often struggle to pay for their basic needs. Although they can get a weekly Carer's Allowance, the charities say this is not enough, and many carers do not get it all.
