Baby Peter jail terms criticised

The mother of Baby Peter has been jailed for a minimum of five years for causing or allowing her son's death after months of abuse in Haringey, north London.

Her boyfriend received 12 years for the same offence, and a life term for the rape of another child, a two-year-old girl.

Natalie Cronin of the children's charity, the NSPCC, has said a maximum sentence should have been imposed.
