Research loophole for smoking pub

A landlady has exploited a loophole in the smoking ban by creating a "smoking research centre" at her pub in Worsbrough.

Kerry Fenton has turned a room of the Cutting Edge pub near Barnsley into a facility for smoking research, allowing customers to light a cigarette if they fill in a questionnaire about their habit.

Barnsley council's Simon Frow doubts the research credibility of the pub and expects the smoking room will have to be stubbed out.
