As part of the BBC News Changing Cityscapes series, Project Manager of the Clyde Arc bridge in Glasgow, Dougie Grant, explains the design.

Glasgow is one of many cities and towns across the UK where an eye catching new bridge has been built as a key part of a regeneration plan.

Completed in 2006, the Clyde Arc was the first road bridge built across the River Clyde since 1969.

The idea was to create an iconic gateway to the city and pave the way for regeneration on both sides of the river.
