Britain's oldest man, and the last surviving original member of the Royal Air Force, has received one of France's highest honours.
Henry Allingham, who is 112 and lives in Sussex, received the Legion d'Honneur at the French Embassy in London.
Already a Chevalier of the Legion D'Honneur, he was elevated to the higher rank of officer at the ceremony.
