More snow sweeping across UK

The Met Office has issued an extreme weather warning for most of the UK for the next 24 hours, as heavy snow moves west across Britain.

The east of the UK was hit hardest on Monday, with the heaviest snowfall in 18 years causing major disruption on railways, roads and at airports.
