UK retailers fight the slowdown

As the last Woolworths stores closed their doors for the last time, Debenhams and Next announced a drop in like-for like sales in the run-up to Christmas.

But despite the drop in sales figures, shares in the retailers rose sharply as the results were better than had expected.

Robert Peston reports.
