Interest rates set for the chop

Interest rates are expected to be cut again when the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee announces its monthly review on Thursday.

In November rates were reduced dramatically by one and a half percentage points to try to encourage consumer spending.

With future cuts predicted one expert says interest rates might eventually fall to zero.

The BBC's Economics Editor Hugh Pym reports.
