Smith unaware of Green arrest

Jacqui Smith has denied having any knowledge that police were about to arrest the Tory MP Damian Green in connection with the alleged leaking of Home Office documents.

The home secretary told Andrew Marr that she was informed about the arrest after it had happened.

Ms Smith spoke about the Damian Green row as part of a wide-ranging interview on the BBC One programme.
