Audio slideshow: Ex-soldier 'faces three years' in hostel

A British army veteran of seven years, who did two tours of Iraq, says he and his wife are facing three years living in a one-room hostel bedsit in London.

Lance Corporal Ricardo McKenzie was injured twice during his military service, and now suffers from a debilitating condition known as cold injury.

He and his wife Shamar have been told there is a three-year wait for housing.

Lewisham Council says it is sympathetic to Mr McKenzie's needs but there is a high demand for social houses. It says action is being taken to resolve the couple's concerns about repairs in the hostel.

Here, Mr and Mrs McKenzie show us the room where they eat and sleep.
