'We would have raced another day'

Schools, hotels and outdoor centres have given shelter to many of the participants stranded when a Lake District race was abandoned because of harsh weather.

Three teams made it to a hotel in Buttermere. Among those runners was Max Folkett, who said conditions had been terrible but they had been well prepared, and that he was disappointed the race had been called off.
