People around the world are experiencing the impact of the global economic crisis. Volatile markets... what memories do you have of previous crises?

The BBC is looking for your memories of past economic turmoil such as the Wall Street Crash of 1929 and the slowdown of 1987.

Did your parents or grandparents live through such events? What are their memories?

Do you have pictures relating to past global economic crises? What stories have your parents or grandparents told you of living through a depression or financial hardship? Have you experienced the effects of an economic downturn in more recent times?

Thank you for your comments. We are no longer looking for contributors.
