Fears for elderly flood victims

Peter Kerr of the Environment Agency has said there is concern for the safety of elderly residents living in Morpeth, Northumberland, as flood water levels continue to rise.

Mr Kerr also said that up to a thousand properties could be flooded, with flood defences unable to cope with the intense rainfall.
