The gang were captured on CCTV stealing from Warneford Place
|
Five members of the Johnson family have been jailed for burglaries that experts say may have netted them tens of millions of pounds.
BBC News chronicles the activities of one of Britain's most prolific criminal gangs.
10 June 2003, Waddesdon Manor, near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire: Snuff boxes worth about £5m are stolen from the Rothschild family. Ricky Johnson, Chad Johnson and Danny O'Loughlin were charged in connection with the raid, but the trial collapsed after a judge ruled against the inclusion of key evidence and a prosecution challenge to that ruling failed in the High Court.
29 July, 2005, Worcestershire: three shops are broken into and TVs, crystal, china and kitchenware worth a total of £140,000 are stolen.
12 October, 2005, Ombersley Court in Droitwich, Worcestershire: The gang break into the home of Lord and Lady Sandys, stealing a carriage clock worth £1,000 before escaping when disturbed.
