Two aircraft have been involved in a "minor wingtip collision" at Manchester Airport while they were taxiing out to the runway from Terminal One.

One of the planes was a Boeing 737-800 bound for Tenerife - the other, an Airbus A320 Lufhansa flight heading for Frankfurt.

Lufhansa plane passenger Mark Townsley described how the aircraft was struck from behind and started ''rocking.''
